Working With Our Schools
The Vigo County School Corporation diligently serves the wide ranging needs of its students. Just as the schools of our society require great teachers and leaders, the same is true for the individuals which keep the schools maintained. Commercial Interiors, Inc., works often with Dave Danner to be sure that the local schools’ needs are met. In this piece, Dave shares his thoughts on the company and their performance:

Terre Haute, IN The Confidence Of An Architect Over the past decade, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Commercial Interiors, Inc. (CII) on several high profile and complicated projects in and around the Terre Haute area. Our working relationship is positive and productive due to CII’s professionalism, high level of workmanship and their willingness to be problem solvers. These traits are illustrated with the following examples. First, half way through the construction on the Springhill Branch of the Terre Haute First National Bank (1999), CII stepped up as a prime contractor, assumed more responsibility and teamed with the architect and construction manager to successfully complete the project. The key was communication and a willingness to adjust on the fly with the shared goal of finishing the job on time and under budget. Secondly, workmanship is very important to the architect as it is to the client. The Putnam County Hospital Surgery Center and Maternity Services Addition (2003) and the Vigo County Corrections Center (2004) were two projects required the highest quality of workmanship and CII delivered. The work was crisp and clean, with minimal problems given the complexity of the projects and was completed per the architect’s original design. Finally, renovations of existing buildings, particularly historic buildings, present some interesting and unforeseen problems that require quick creative solutions. Working on the Vigo County Annex (1999) and the Vigo County Courthouse Interior Renovation (2003-2008), I constantly exchanged ideas in the field with CII through field sketches collectively solving detail oriented problems that always seemed to pop up. The results through this interaction were quick, creative solutions that kept the job moving forward and on budget. To sum up, my relationship with Commercial Interiors, Inc. is strong. I attribute this to their quality of staff, their willingness to be teammates, and their dedication to a high level of workmanship. St. Vincent's first opportunity to work with Commercial Interiors, Inc. came in the form of the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons project. Although our path had previously crossed on other projects, we were extremely pleased to observe first hand the high standards they maintained throughout all aspects of the job.
